Sweeteners come in many forms but have one purpose,to arouse the palate. Some of the common sweeteners used in the United States are sucrose from sugarcane and sugar beet, high-fructose corn syrup, dextrose, sorghum syrup, maple syrup, honey and an array of artificial sweeteners.
