For many of you, deformed hard candy is not a major problem. For example, deposited hard candy does not experience the kind of deformation that will be discussed in this paper. But for those of you who are familiar with it, deformed candy pieces can be a real disaster. Regardless of which group you are in, invest a little of your time and take a look at what may be the tip of an iceberg. As you will see, this seemingly minor problem has ties to global warming, greenhouse gasses, international politics and the energy crisis.
