Why do we put a finish on our panned goods? Well, most manufacturers finish, polish and glaze their panned products to enhance their appearance, as well as add to the product’s shelf life, freshness and stability. For many consumers, the product’s ultimate acceptance is based upon its finish or gloss. To a consumer, no other product attribute represents or presents wholesomeness or quality more than finish. This initial consumer reaction can trigger the purchase response and help contribute to the product’s final success
