Most people assume that the confectionery business is, well, sweet. But it is not all rivers of chocolate and lickable wallpaper.As an example, a major Midwest chocolate producer was facing increased competition by way of lower labor costs, aging machinery that frequently broke down and excessive product losses—all of which threatened the continuity of their business. The company recognized that its equipment was at the heart of many of the struggles. They realized that the entire organization needed to change to remain competitive in their markets.
