Malnutrition is a dire global problem that impacts millions of vulnerable children each year. Acute malnutrition is estimated to affect over 50 million children under five years old worldwide.The consequences are life-threatening: a child with severe acute malnutrition (sam) is 11.6 times more likely to die than a well-nourished child.
